Ferrera, Lemus and King are executive producing. Macro vp digital content and production Aaliyah Williams is producing. Lemus directs the series, which he wrote with Linda Yvette Chavez.

Gente-Fied is the first digital series from Macro, which King launched in early 2015 to work with multicultural filmmakers. Williams, who was recently named into a full-time position with the company, and Michael Palank, vp digital strategy and business development, are leading the the development of a digital slate with several soon-to-be-announced projects currently in production.

The company has also established a growing slate of film projects, including Fences starring Denzel Washington and Viola Davis, which it is producing with Paramount Pictures and Bron Studios. It is also in pre-production on Dee Rees-directed Mudbound starring Jason Mitchell, Garrett Hedlund, Carey Mulligan and Jason Clarke. Macro's TV projects includes Scenes for Minors created by Ryan Coogler, Destin Cretton and writer Chinaka Hodge.
