SYBIL CHRISTOPHER, 1929-2013
Actress and theater producer Sybil Christopher, whose marriage to Richard Burton ended with his infamous affair with Elizabeth Taylor during production of the 1963 film Cleopatra, died March 9. Christopher, who married musician Jordan Christopher in 1964, opened the Manhattan nightclub Arthur; was involved in the New Theater, whose first director was Mike Nichols; and co-founded the nonprofit Bay Street Theatre in Sag Harbor, N.Y. She was 83.
ENGAGEMENTS
Supermodel and former Fashion Star host Elle Macpherson became engaged to real estate developer Jeffrey Soffer. The couple split in March 2012 after two years of dating but reconciled in November after Soffer was injured in a helicopter crash.

Our America host Lisa Ling and her husband, oncologist Paul Song, welcomed daughter Jett on March 8 in Santa Monica.
The Girls Next Door alum Holly Madison and her boyfriend, Electric Daisy Carnival founder Pasquale Rotella, welcomed daughter Rainbow Aurora on March 5 in Las Vegas.

STORY: Alvin Lee Dies; Guitarist Electrified Woodstock
DEATHS
Alvin Lee, the British singer-guitarist in the band Ten Years After whose fiery performance at Woodstock was immortalized in the subsequent film, died March 6 of surgical complications. He was 68.
Swing Era singer Fran Warren, who worked with the likes of bandleader Billy Eckstine, died on her 87th birthday March 4.
Micky Moore, a child actor who went on to become a disciple of Cecil B. DeMille and a second-unit director on such films as Patton and the first three Indiana Jones movies, died at age 98.
