'American Sniper' Widow Pens Love Letter for 13th Anniversary: "YOU, Chris Kyle, Are IT for Me"
The war veteran was killed in February 2013.
Tara Kyle paid tribute to her late husband, American Sniper subject Chris Kyle, who was portrayed by Bradley Cooper in Clint Eastwood's hit film, on what would have been their 13th wedding anniversary.
Tara, played in the film by actress Sienna Miller, shared her love letter to Chris via Facebook on Monday, describing him as "tough" but "romantic" and recounting the times that he would surprise her with roses.
"Today, I have a choice," Tara, 40, wrote. "I can bury myself under the covers and acknowledge the pain of missing you and mourn the future anniversaries without you. Or I can celebrate never having a day without you in my heart because you loved me enough to leave me a lifetime of memories and beauty. I am somewhere in between today.
"And if I didn't tell you enough in life, then let me tell you today ... YOU, Chris Kyle, are IT for me," she continued. "I loved you yesterday, I love you now and I will love you all the days of my life. Thank you for marrying me, even if I'm the one who had to ask you."
Chris died in February 2013 at the age of 38 after he was shot by former Marine Eddie Ray Routh. On Feb. 24, Routh was convicted of murdering Chris Kyle and Chad Littlefield and was sentenced to life in prison without parole.
