'America's Most Wanted' Host: Tip Led Police to Ronni Chasen Suspect

'I believe they responded to a tip that we had passed on,' John Walsh tells the Los Angeles Times.

America's Most Wanted host John Walsh says a tip provided by his show helped lead police to a man they believe was connected to last month's murder of Ronni Chasen, the Los Angeles Times reported.

The Fox show featured a segment on the Chasen murder Nov. 20, four days after the publicist was shot five times and crashed her car into a light pole in Beverly Hills while driving home from the Burlesque premiere afterparty in Hollywood.

On Wednesday, Beverly Hills Police Department detectives were serving the unidentified man a search warrant in the lobby of the Harvey Apartments, a former Hollywood hotel-turned-apartment complex, when he shot and killed himself.

“I believe they responded to a tip that we had passed on," Walsh told the Times. "BHPD reached out to us. We have been working closely with Beverly Hills [police].”

Walsh said he couldn't provide specific details but did say police acted quickly on the tip. The BHPD has not revealed what led them to the man.

Beverly Hills police had no immediate comment on Walsh's statement, the Times reported.
