'Amityville: The Awakening' Pushed to Next Year
The 14th installment in the classic horror franchise stars Bella Thorne and Jennifer Jason Leigh.
Only weeks before it was set to hit theaters, the release of Amityville: The Awakening has been pushed back to Jan. 6, 2017.
The supernatural horror film, which had already been delayed several times, was supposed to open April 1. Dimension Films partnered with Blumhouse Productions on The Awakening, which stars Bella Thorne, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Cameron Monaghan, Thomas Mann and Kurtwood Smith.
The Awakening is the 14th installment in the classic horror franchise and is directed by Franck Khalfoun.
The story follows a young girl who moves into a new home with her single mother and comatose young brother, who makes a miraculous recovery as other strange phenomena occurs.
Amityville: The Awakening was first supposed to open in January 2015.
