AMPTP hires Tracey Wood

CFTPA's former chief negotiator named vp of Canadian affiliates

TORONTO -- The Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers has hired labor negotiator Tracey Wood away from the Canadian Film and Television Production Association, representing indie producers here, to serve as its vp of Canadian affiliates from January.

Vancouver-based Wood is currently the CFTPA's chief negotiator in British Columbia.

Newly installed AMPTP president Carol Lombardini in a statement said Wood's "deep relations with the B.C. production community" will help the studios maintain a production foothold in the western-most Canadian province.

Wood has negotiated a number of labor deals with the Union of British Columbia Performers, representing local actors, and other Vancouver-based unions and guilds.
