Amy Schumer Comedy 'I Feel Pretty' Picked Up by STX
Abby Kohn and Marc Silverstein, the writers behind 'How to Be Single' and 'He's Just Not That Into You,' wrote the script and will make their directorial debut with the film.
STXfilms has acquired U.S. rights to I Feel Pretty, the latest comedy from Amy Schumer.
Abby Kohn and Marc Silverstein, the writers behind How to Be Single and He’s Just Not That Into You, wrote the script and will make their directorial debut with the film.
STXfilms will distribute the comedy domestically. The deal marks the second the studio has made for projects involving Kohn and Silverstein this week after STX separately announced it is developing an untitled romantic comedy written by the duo and set to star Anne Hathaway.
I Feel Pretty will begin shooting in July in Boston.
The logline, according to STX, which announced the deal Thursday, is thus: An ordinary woman who struggles with feelings of insecurity and inadequacy on a daily basis wakes from a fall believing she is suddenly the most beautiful and capable woman on the planet. With this newfound confidence she is empowered to live her life fearlessly and flawlessly, but what will happen when she realizes her appearance never changed?
Wonderland Sound and Vision’s McG and Mary Viola are producing the comedy with Voltage Pictures’ Alissa Phillips, Dominic Rustam and Nicolas Chartier. Schumer will also produce.
The title was selling at the Cannes Film Market. Voltage will finance the film and is currently selling international distribution rights.
