Anchor Bay nabs 'Solitary Man'

Michael Douglas, Susan Sarandon, Mary-Louise Parker star

Anchor Bay Films has acquired all U.S. distribution rights to Millennium Films' "Solitary Man," starring Michael Douglas, Susan Sarandon, Mary-Louise Parker and Danny DeVito.

In the feature, directed by Brian Koppelman and David Levien from a script by Koppelman, Douglas plays a car magnate whose personal and professional life cracks up because of his business and romantic indiscretions.

Anchor Bay, whose recent releases have included "Spread," starring Ashton Kutcher, and "The Open Road," with Jeff Bridges, is planning a theatrical release for the film.

The deal was negotiated by Anchor Bay president Bill Clark and senior vp acquisitions Kevin Kasha and Richard Turner with Avi Lerner and David Sobieraj for Nu Image/Millennium.
