Anchor Bay picks up 'Slammin' Salmon'

Broken Lizard comedy to be released in Dec.

Anchor Bay Films has acquired theatrical distribution rights to the Broken Lizard comedy "The Slammin' Salmon," directed by Kevin Heffernan.

It is planning a December theatrical release.

"Salmon" stars the Broken Lizard comedy troupe, comprised of Jay Chandrasekhar, Kevin Heffernan, Steve Lemme, Paul Soter and Erik Stolhanske, along with Michael Clarke Duncan, Cobie Smulders, April Bowlby, Sendhil Ramamurthy, Olivia Munn, Will Forte, Lance Henriksen, Vivica A. Fox and Morgan Fairchild.

Its plot follows a former heavyweight boxing champ turned restaurant owner (Duncan) who, indebted to the Japanese mob, challenges his waiters to sell more food in one night than they've ever sold before.

It was produced by Richard Perello and Peter Lengyel, and financed by Lengyel's Arpad Productions. It is a joint production between Broken Lizard, Cataland Films, and Arpad.
