Tempers Flare in the 'Angry Birds' Teaser Trailer

The new animated comedy aims to uncover what made those birds so angry.

Jason Sudeikis leads an all-star ensemble in the official new trailer for Rovio and Columbia Pictures’ The Angry Birds Movie.

The animated flick is based on the popular mobile app game Angry Birds. Distributed by Sony Pictures, the movie promises to reveal why the birds are so angry.

The trailer opens to a secluded island paradise populated by flightless birds. The inhabitants seem happy and rather chipper, except for Sudeikis’ character, that is.

Sudeikis (We’re the Millers, Horrible Bosses) voices Red, a hot-headed bird with a sarcastic attitude. Other feathery characters include Josh Gad (Frozen) as energetic Chuck and Danny McBride (This Is the End) as Bomb. Bill Hader (Trainwreck, Inside Out) voices Leonard, a green pig who arrives at the island with a mysterious motive.

The star-studded voice cast also features Maya Rudolph, Kate McKinnon, Keegan-Michael Key, and recent Emmy award winners Tony Hale and Peter Dinklage. Fergal Reilly and Clay Kaytis directed the film.

The Angry Birds Movie soars into theaters May 2016 and will also be shown in 3D.
