Animal Planet announces new series

'The Grizzly Man Diaries' one of four new shows

Animal Planet Thursday announced four new series at the Television Critics Assn. press tour at the Beverly Hilton.

"The Grizzly Man Diaries" (premiering Aug. 22) will document the life of wildlife filmmaker/photographer Timothy Treadwell in the decade before was killed by a bear. It's from the producers of Werner Herzog's "Grizzly Man" documentary.

"Mr. and Mrs. Wolf" (October) will center on British wolf expert Shaun Ellis as he introduces his fiancee, Helen Jeffs, to the wild animals he studies.

The other two series, from Go Go Luckey ("Laguna Beach"), are the horse racing-themed "Jockeys" (January) and "Creature" (fall), an up-close look at bizarre animals.
