Annabella Sciorra Signs With CAA (Exclusive)
The veteran actress is an Indie Spirit and Emmy nominee.
Annabella Sciorra has signed with CAA in all areas, The Hollywood Reporter has exclusively learned. She was previously with Abrams Artists Agency.
The actress' film debut in 1989’s True Love earned her an Independent Spirit nomination for best female lead, and two years later she broke out starring opposite Wesley Snipes in Spike Lee’s interracial romance drama Jungle Fever. That was followed by Curtis Hanson’s hit psychological thriller The Hand That Rocks the Cradle (1992), in which she starred opposite Rebecca De Mornay, and then, in 1993, the romantic comedy The Night We Never Met, produced by Miramax.
It was sometime after wrapping on that film that Harvey Weinstein showed up at her New York City apartment late one night, forcibly entered her home and raped her, Sciorra told The New Yorker last month. Her story is one of the most harrowing allegations against the film mogul, who is currently facing claims of sexual assault or harassment by 80 women.
She recurred later on HBO’s The Sopranos, which garnered her an Emmy nomination for outstanding guest actress in 2001. In 2011, she made her Broadway debut in the Tony-nominated comedic play The Motherfucker With the Hat, for which she shared Theatre World's Lunt-Fontanne Award for Ensemble Excellence with co-stars Chris Rock, Bobby Cannavale, Elizabeth Rodriguez and Yul Vazquez.
Sciorra continues to be managed by Mainstay Entertainment.
