Annenberg's Designer Theatrical Costume Exhibit Extended to Dec. 18
The show featuring theater costumes by Armani, Versace, Fendi, Missoni is so popular, it's staying open for an extra month.
It's called Il Teatro alla Moda, and it's a must for any denizen of Los Angeles who cares either about fashion or costume.
These costumes, some for theater and some for opera, are glorious, elaborate, flamboyant, and one of a kind. Theatrical looks by Armani, Capucci, Alberta Ferretti, Fendi, Romeo Gigli, Valentino are on display in a Beverly Hills temporary space on 253 N. Beverly Drive, while the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts, which produced the show, finishes construction. They're all colorful, and all inform that these Italian fashion designs do in ready to wear.
The Hollywood Reporter was lucky enough to be walked through the exhibit with matriarch Rosita Missoni and her son Luca, when they were in town for an awards ceremony. Many important costume designers have been through, plus actors Stana Katic and fashion designer Jeremy Scott.
We say: don't miss. It's now open till December 18. It was meant to close mid-November.
