In a statement, reps for Anderson said, "It's unfortunate that anyone can file a police report whether it is true or false. The authorities have not contacted Anthony or any of his representatives about this matter. Anthony unequivocally disputes the claim."

The LAPD is investigating Anthony Anderson for a crime, but no further details are being given, The Hollywood Reporter can confirm.

A report by The Blast on Friday indicated that an unnamed woman alleged that Anderson, who stars on ABC comedy Black-ish, assaulted her. However, police stopped short of confirming any additional details beyond that the actor is "listed as a suspect in a criminal report, and it is an ongoing investigation."

In a statement given to THR, reps for Anderson said, "It's unfortunate that anyone can file a police report whether it is true or false. The authorities have not contacted Anthony or any of his representatives about this matter. Anthony unequivocally disputes the claim."

In 2004, the actor was charged with an alleged rape on the set of comedy Hustle & Flow. The charges were later dropped after a judge found the woman's testimony did not produce probable cause. Judge Anthony Johnson said at the time, "This is absolutely the most suspicious case I've ever heard."

The Black-ish star recently received his fourth lead actor Emmy nomination for the ABC comedy series. A request for comment from ABC, which airs and produces Black-ish, was not immediately returned.
