The Emmy-winning executive producers/directors sign a two-year pact with Universal Media Studios.

Universal Media Studios has inked an overall deal with brothers Anthony and Joe Russo.

The pact binds the Emmy-winning executive producers/directors to the NBCUniversal studio for the next two years. In addition to developing new projects -- the duo has gotten nine pilots to air over the last decade -- the Russos will remain as executive producers on NBC comedy Community.

"Our new deal with the Russo brothers shows that NBC is looking for creative producers who are both successful and not afraid to take chances," says NBC Entertainment chairman Bob Greenblatt. "Their unique vision and ingenuity should result in some very edgy content that will capture everyone’s attention."

Adds Joe Russo, “They fully embrace our distinctive style and taste, and we look forward to building a long, productive partnership with them.”

The pair, whose past credits also include Arrested Development and Happy Endings, is repped by WME.
