Anthony Peckham dives into 'Deep Sea'

Will adapt Wired article about salvage crew

Anthony Peckham has been hired to work on the script for the DreamWorks Studios action project "Deep Sea Cowboys."

The "Invictus" screenwriter will bring his take to adapting Joshua Davis' Wired article about a salvage crew trying to save a capsized Japanese cargo ship. The real-time action scenario will explore how a tightknit crew races to save the ship's dangerous cargo and claim its reward.

Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci ("Eagle Eye") are producing through their K/O Prods. David Ayer ("Training Day") previously worked on the script.

Peckham, who is repped by WME and Anonymous Content, co-wrote "Sherlock Holmes," which Warner Bros. will release Christmas Day. He also has an adaptation of "The Tourist" in development at Warner Bros. and an adaptation of "The Limit" set up at Columbia.
