Arcs align for Williams, Hutton

JoBeth Williams has been tapped to do a multiepisode arc on Showtime's drama "Dexter," while Lauren Hutton is set to do the same on FX's "Nip/Tuck."

"Dexter," which returns for a second season Sept. 30, centers on Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall), a likable Miami police forensics expert who is also a serial killer. In four episodes, Williams will play the mother of Dexter's girlfriend, Rita Bennett (Julie Benz), and she is not fooled by his boyish charm.

Williams, who recently appeared in the feature "In the Land of Women," next appears in the CBS telefilm "Sybil" opposite Jessica Lange and Tammy Blanchard.

"Nip/Tuck's" upcoming fifth season centers on Christian Troy (Julian McMahon) and Sean McNamara (Dylan Walsh) as they try to rebuild their plastic surgery practice, McNamara/Troy, in Los Angeles. In at least three episodes, model-turned-actress Hutton will play a Hollywood publicist who will bring her star client to McNamara/Troy to get work done.
