Argento's 'Madre' to debut at Rome fest

CANNES -- "La Terza Madre" (The Third Mother), the new film from famed Italian horror film director Dario Argento will premiere at this year's RomaCinemaFest, which runs Oct. 18-27.

The third film in the "Three Mothers" trilogy, the film is set in Rome, Argento's hometown. The story is based on an American art student, played by Argento's daughter, who opens an urn that leashes the power of the world's most powerful witch.

A refurbished edition of Argento's "Susperia" screened in Cannes this year, 30 years after its original screening.

Asia Argento, meanwhile, is one of a handful of actors to appear in three separate films screening at the Festival de Cannes: Palme d'Or nominee "Une Vieille Maitresse," thriller "Boarding Gate" and comedy "Go Go Tales."
