Bocco is promoted by AMC Networks after IFC Films co-president Lisa Schwartz announced she was stepping down at the end of the year.

AMC Networks has promoted Arianna Bocco to president of its IFC Films division.

Bocco for a decade has overseen acquisitions and productions for IFC Films, as well as genre label IFC Midnight. Her notable film acquisitions include Michael Winterbottom’s The Trip series, Armando Iannucci’s The Death of Stalin and Jennifer Kent’s The Babadook.

Bocco's promotion follows Lisa Schwartz, the longtime IFC Films co-president, announcing she will step down at the end of the year.

In her new role, Bocco will add oversight of theatrical film distribution and the IFC Films Unlimited subscription streaming service to her duties as she reports to Miguel Penella, AMC Networks president of SVOD.

“IFC Films is synonymous with quality, innovation and filmmaker-driven cinema. I could not be more excited by the opportunity to embrace this prestigious reputation and lead the company forward by continuing our commitment to bringing audiences dynamic films, diverse auteurs, and thought provoking art in new and exciting ways," Bocco said in a statement.

Current and upcoming IFC Films releases include The Nest, starring Jude Law and Carrie Coon, and Sam Pollard's documentary MLK/FBI.
