Armendariz stays atop Mexican Academy

Will remain in the post for two more years

MEXICO CITY -- Pedro Armendariz, one of Mexico's most prolific actors, has been re-elected president of the Mexican Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences.

Armendariz will preside as president for a two-year period alongside "The Crime of Father Amaro" director Carlos Carrera, who was re-elected vice president.

The academy selects Mexico's foreign-language Oscar submission and the Ariels, the nation's top film award.
