Artificial Eye picks up titles for DVD

'Agnes Varda,' Haneke films added to catalog

LONDON -- Artificial Eye has picked up a slew of classic world titles for DVD release, coinciding with a number of forthcoming theatrical releases, it was announced Wednesday.

In advance of the cinema release of "The Beaches of Agnes," it has acquired the "Films of Agnes Varda" DVD Collection, including "Cleo From 5 to 7," "Vagabond," and "Jacquot de Nantes." To celebrate Michael Haneke's eagerly awaited "The White Ribbon," Artificial Eye has added to its already Haneke catalog with "Funny Games," "Benny's Video," "The Seventh Continent" and "71 Fragments of a Chronology of Chance."

Also acquired for DVD is a collection of early masterpieces by Ingmar Bergman including "Dreams" and "The Naked Night."
