Artists Offer Free Gigs at MTV European Music Awards

Tens of thousands of fans expected to attend the event in Madrid


MADRID -- Katy Perry and Linkin Park will offer free concerts at one of Madrid's most historic and emblematic monuments Sunday as part of the MTV EMA 2010 extravaganza.

Each artist will sing at the Puerta de Alcala, located in the heart of Madrid, with a stage surrounded by locals. Tens of thousands of fans are expected to attend the event, which will offer one song from each artist transmitted live to the Magic Box arena where the European Music Awards ceremony will be held simultaneously.

Shakira, Rihanna, Plan B, Miley Cyrus and Bon Jovi are a few of those scheduled to participate in the MTV event this weekend.
