Asian Cinema Fund Extends Filmmaker Support Programs

The Busan International Film Festival initiative will focus on films shot in or based around conflict areas.

SEOUL -- The Busan International Film Festival's Asian Cinema Fund has extended its programs this year to support independent filmmakers. The new support fund will offer projects from talented Asian filmmakers that are shot in or are based on stories about conflict areas.

Separately, the Asian Network of Documentary Fund (AND) is extending its post-production support for documentary projects. Asian Cinema Fund is largely divided into three categories: Script Development Fund, Post-Production Fund and the AND Fund.
Applicants can submit their projects through the ACF website. May 10 is the deadline for all projects. Year Without a Summer by Tan Chui Mui, a  Malaysian director which was invited to Window on Asian Cinema in 15th Busan International Film Festival was the last year's winner of the Independent Feature Post-Production Fund.
