Asylum Entertainment Taps Stephanie Lydecker as Senior VP Development
The former 495 Productions development chief will oversee unscripted development as well as develop scripted fare for the production company behind "The Kennedys" and "Beverly Hills Pawn."
Stephanie Lydecker is headed to Asylum.
The former 495 Productions development chief, who developed such shows as Jersey Shore and The Pauly D Project, is joining Asylum Entertainment (The Kennedys, Beverly Hills Pawn) as senior vp development. In the new role, Lydecker will oversee unscripted development as well as develop for the company's scripted business.
"Stephanie is one of the most talented and creative executives in the entire industry. We feel very fortunate to have her join the Asylum family," said Asylum Entertainment CEO Steve Michaels in a statement announcing the news Tuesday.
Lydecker brings with her a bevy of unscripted experience, having worked on shows including Temptation Island, The Bachelor, American Idol and Nashville Star over the course of her career. More recently, she co-wrote (with Jesse Russell) her first feature screenplay, Like Lightning, which is currently in preproduction.
To date, Asylum is best-known for its controversial eight-part miniseries, The Kennedys, which racked up four Emmy wins. The company's scripted division picked up another four nominations for its telepic Ring of Fire, starring singer-actress Jewel. On the unscripted side, Asylum is behind projects including American Gangster, The Locator and installments in ESPN's celebrated 30 for 30 franchise. Come spring, it will release its first feature film, Small Time, written and directed by 24 co-creator Joel Surnow.
