Atom Tickets Promotes Allison Checchi to COO
The company recently raised $60 million in a financing round led by Fidelity Investments.
Atom Tickets, the online movie ticket provider that counts Steven Spielberg, J.J. Abrams and Tyler Perry as members of its advisory board, said Tuesday it has promoted Allison Checchi to chief operating officer.
Checchi joined Atom Tickets eight months ago as chief marketing officer. Prior to that, she held the same position at digital marketing firm YP, and before that she was with Bain & Company's technology, media and telecom practice.
Checchi's promotion comes four days after co-founder Ameesh Paleja joined Starz as its chief technology officer and left co-founder Matthew Bakal to run Atom Tickets, though Paleja is still an advisor, board member and "head of innovation" there.
Atom Tickets was founded four years ago and services about 20,000 movie screens, roughly half of what is serviced by Fandango, the NBCUniversal-owned leader in online movie ticketing.
Atom Tickets, which recently raised $60 million in a financing round led by Fidelity Investments, is partially owned by 21st Century Fox, Disney and Lionsgate.
"We have several exciting efforts to execute this year, and I know we will succeed given our creativity, extremely talented team and passion for creating great consumer experiences," Checchi said.
