Atopia scoops up Quebec four-pack

TORONTO -- Canadian movie distributor Atopia Distribution on Monday said it has acquired the rights to four Quebec feature films, including Marc-Andre Forcier's upcoming family drama "Nemesis."

Montreal-based Atopia said it snagged the Canadian rights to Forcier's 12th feature, which stars Quebec veterans Remy Girard, Roy Dupuis, Celine Bonnier and France Castel, and is set to shoot from the end of September to December in northern Quebec and Ireland.

It also picked up domestic rights to Denis Cote's third feature, "Elle veut le Chaos." The Eve Duranceau and Nicolas Canuel starrer portrays a rebellious young woman whose life teeters precariously between two warring gangs.

Also in the Atopia shopping basket is "The Other Side of the Country," a Catherine Hebert documentary about Uganda's ongoing civil war, and the comedy feature "Who is K.K. Downey?" -- the debut effort from Darrin Curtis and Pat Kiely.
