Autodesk completes French acquisitions

Realviz, Kynogon specialize in photography, middleware

Software developer Autodesk completed the acquisitions of France-based Realviz S.A. and Kynogon S.A. It declined to disclose the terms of the transactions.

Kynogon is a privately held maker of Kynapse artificial intelligence middleware, which has been used to develop game titles and is tapped in simulation industries.

Realviz is the privately held developer of image-based content creation software and its products are used for panoramic photography, image-based modeling, match moving and optical motion capture. Its flagship tools are Stitcher and ImageModeler.

Autodesk tools include Flame, Smoke, 3ds Max, Maya, MotionBuilder and Mudbox.

Earlier this week, Autodesk announced that Alfred Castino is resigning as senior vp and CFO, but would remain as CFO while the company conducts a search for his replacement.
