The expansion follows a strategic partnership with Endemol Shine last year.

YouTube multichannel network AwesomenessTV has expanded into five new international territories.

Following last year's strategic partnership with the Endemol Shine Group, the teen content platform — in which DreamWorks Animation owns a controlling stake — has extended its reach into the U.K., Germany, Spain, France and Brazil, with localized editions launched in each territory.

As part of the expansion, announced Thursday, local-language versions of several AwesomenessTV formats have been unveiled, alongside several original series featuring YouTube stars.

"With this launch, we are able to extend the reach of AwesomenessTV to fans, who can now enjoy our programming in their own language," said AwesomenessTV chief digital officer Kelly Day. "Localized versions of the AwesomenessTV formats are working incredibly well, proving Gen Z content knows no boundaries. The creation of great original content delivers on our promise of providing new opportunities and resources for local talent."

Since their soft launches, both AwesomenessTV versions in France and Spain have each gained more than 65,000 subscribers.

DreamWorks Animation acquired AwesomenessTV in 2013 and sold a 25 percent stake to Hearst Corp. the following year.
