Awkwafina to Host 22nd Hollywood Film Awards

The star of 'Oceans 8' and 'Crazy Rich Asians' will emcee this year's gala event.

Awkwafina will host the 22nd Hollywood Film Awards, Dick Clark Productions revealed Thursday.

The actress has enjoyed a breakout year with roles in Ocean's 8 and Crazy Rich Asians, as well as a recent hosting stint on Saturday Night Live.

The Hollywood Film Awards honors excellence in the art of cinema. This year, Nicole Kidman is set to receive the Hollywood career achievement award, while Glenn Close and Hugh Jackman will be presented the Hollywood actress and Hollywood actor awards, respectively. Beautiful Boy's Timothée Chalamet will receive the Hollywood supporting actor award.

Awkwafina also will be honored alongside her co-stars in Crazy Rich Asians with the Hollywood breakout ensemble award, while Green Book, starring Viggo Mortensen and Mahershala Ali, will receive the Hollywood ensemble award.

The Hate U Give's Amandla Stenberg will take home the Hollywood breakout performance actress award, and BlacKkKlansman's John David Washington will be honored with the Hollywood breakout performance actor award.

Beautiful Boy helmer Felix Van Groeningen will accept the Hollywood breakthrough director award, while Peter Farrelly, Nick Vallelonga and Brian Hayes Currie will receive the Hollywood screenwriter award for Green Book

Believer will get the nod for documentary film, and Pixar's Incredibles 2 will receive the Hollywood animation award.

Marvel's Black Panther will receive the Hollywood film award.

The ceremony is set to take place Sunday at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills.

The Hollywood Film Awards are produced by Dick Clark Productions, which shares a parent company with The Hollywood Reporter.
