'Baader' to open Zurich fest

Moritz Bliebtreu, Bruno Ganz among film's stars

COLOGNE, Germany -- Uli Edel's hotly anticipated '70s terrorist drama "The Baader Meinhof Complex" will open this year's Zurich Film Festival, with the Sept. 25 premiere coinciding with the film's general release in Germany.

The drama, featuring a who's who of German stars including Moritz Bliebtreu, Bruno Ganz, Martina Gedeck and Johanna Wokalek, tells the story of Germany's infamous Red Army Faction.

The left-wing group, also knows as the Baader Meinhof gang, terrorized the country in the 1970s and sparked a draconian crackdown from the German state.
