BAFTA won't change date for Olympics

Academy last week moved Oscars' date to March

LONDON -- The British Academy of Film and Television Arts won't be following Oscar's lead on this one.

BAFTA said Monday that its Orange British Academy Film Awards will take place Feb. 21, 2010, despite falling during next year's Winter Olympics.

Held in Vancouver, the Games are scheduled to run Feb. 12-28.

Last week, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences announced it was moving next year's Oscar telecast to March, two weeks later than this year's, to avoid colliding with the closing ceremony of the Winter Olympics.
