Banff World Media Festival to Salute A+E Networks


The 'Duck Dynasty' network will be the focus of a tribute for being a "company of distinction"

A+E Networks was announced on Wednesday as the recipient of the "company of distinction" spotlight and tribute at the 2015 Banff World Media Festival.

The tribute will see top A+E Networks executives, producers and talent in Banff offer keynotes and master classes during the four-day event. The cable powerhouse, this year celebrating its 30th anniversary, is a mainstay at Banff. 

Top programmers each year attend the Canadian Rockies retreat to develop new series with Canadian and international producers for channel brands like the flagship network A&E, History, Lifetime, H2, FYI and LMN.

"As one of the world’s leading television and digital media content events, Banff’s entrepreneurial values align very closely with A+E Networks’, and we are thrilled to have our executives and talent attend this year’s festival to celebrate how far we have come," said Sean Cohan, executive vp international for A+E Networks in a statement.

Earlier recipients of the company of distinction salute include CBS and Lionsgate. The Banff World Media Festival is set to run from June 7-10, 2015.
