Banijay Promotes Marie Schweitzer to Head of Content

She will develop new global formats and expand the company's existing ones, such as 'Temptation Island' and 'Popstars.'

France-based European reality format producer and distributor Banijay Group has promoted Marie Schweitzer to the role of head of content.

She will report directly to Banijay CEO Marco Bassetti.

Schweitzer will be in charge of "all activities related to programs," the company said on Friday. "She will oversee the central development and creative team as well as the market research department, continuing the work of marketing and circulating formats within the group."

She will particularly work on developing new global format brands and expanding existing ones, such as Temptation Island, Beat Your Host and Popstars.

Schweitzer joined Banijay at its launch in 2008 as co-head of market research. Since then, she held various positions in the company, including head of Creative Factory, the firm's central development unit, and content manager.

Said Bassetti: "Marie has been working for Banijay for many years. She has a deep knowledge of the creative non-scripted market and a great talent in this field. I’m very happy she accepted our offer for this important role."
