Kathy Bates has joined Michelle Pfeiffer and Ashton Kutcher in the dramatic love story "Personal Effects," which David Hollander is directing for Insight Studios.
The movie, written by Hollander, sees Kutcher as a young man seeking vengeance for the murder of his sister, but when he arrives in town, he is sidetracked by a beautiful older woman (Pfeiffer) with wounds very similar to his own.
Bates is playing Kutcher's mother.
Production is due to start in Vancouver in November.
Gil Netter is producing along with Insight's Kirk Shaw, Tadora's Christian Arnold-Beutel and CineFilm's Tim McGrath.
Oscar winner Bates, repped by ICM and the Susan Smith Co., has "Fred Claus" and "Bee Movie" in theaters and will next be seen in "P.S., I Love You."
