BBC boosts Brit Film Award coverage

Will broadcast the event across three channels

LONDON -- The BBC is bulking up coverage of this year's Orange British Academy Film Awards, extending its broadcast of Britain's top night for movies across three channels on Sunday, Feb. 8.

Digital net BBC3 will kick off proceedings with coverage from the red carpet in London's Covent Garden and exclusive behind-the-scenes footage hosted by Claudia Winkleman. Coverage will then move to the auditorium of the Royal Opera House for the ceremony, hosted by Jonathan Ross. The first half will air on BBC2 and the final climactic hour will be aired on BBC1.

BAFTA chief executive Amanda Berry said that the new plans will give film fans access to "every aspect" of the event.
