BBC Worldwide Canada inks Microsoft deal

Canadians will be able to buy BBC shows via Xbox, Zune

TORONTO -- BBC Worldwide Canada is to sell some BBC programming via the Xbox Live Marketplace and Zune Marketplace in Canada.

The Canadian deal with Microsoft follows BBC Worldwide making some of its programming available for download from Xbox Live and Zune Marketplace in the U.S. market last summer.

Beginning February 1, Canadians will be able to purchase single episodes of BBC and BBC Earth shows like "Top Gear," "Doctor Who," "Torchwood: Children of Earth" and the comedy "Little Britain," many of which air on the BBC Canada cable channel.
