BBC's African channel acquires ITV titles

'The Street," 'Miranda' picked up by BBC Entertainment

LONDON -- BBC Worldwide's African channel BBC Entertainment has picked up ITV Studios distributed titles "The Street" and "Miranda," premiering some of the best known U.K. TV faces in markets across Africa.

"Miranda" features Miranda Hart's tragi-comic exploits as her agoraphobia triggers one social mishap after another, while multi-award winning drama "The Street" from writer Jimmy McGovern, shines a light on domestic life behind the net curtains in gritty North of England drama.

BBC Entertainment has picked up the first series of "Miranda" 6x30 and all three 6x60 series of BAFTA and International Emmy award-winner "The Street."
