'Becker' scribe lands deal at Warner Bros. TV

Emmy nominee Michael Markowitz inks blind script deal

Emmy-nominated writer Michael Markowitz has closed a blind script deal at Warner Bros. TV.

The writer, whose comedies include "Becker" and "It's All Relative," will team with executive producers Tom Werner ("Grounded for Life," "That '70s Show") and Mike Clements ("Hank") on the project.

The CAA-repped Markowitz recently wrote the half-hour medical comedy presentation for J.J. Abrams' Bad Robot and Warner Bros. and penned the script for the upcoming Seth Gordon film "Horrible Bosses," starring Jason Bateman and Jennifer Aniston.

The former actor appeared in the films "Flamingo Kid" and "Last Resort" before his writing caught the attention of Paramount, which gave him his first break as professional scribe by hiring him as a staff writer on the TV series "Duckman."

He is managed by Heroes and Villains Entertainment.
