Bella Hadid and More Models Cover Elle's May Issue [Elle]
A diverse mix of supermodels — Bella Hadid, Jasmine Tookes, Elsa Hosk, Candice Huffine, Hailey Baldwin and Maria Borges — is featured on six individual covers of Elle's annual Swimsuit Issue. The ladies, photographed by Terry Tsiolis, were outfitted in Chanel, Calvin Klein and Gucci for their cover looks. In their accompanying interviews, each touched on subjects ranging from their career role models to the importance of representation in the fashion industry.
Bebe Lays Off Hundreds of Employees at Headquarters [California Apparel News]
Following the news of its decision to shutter all of its 170 stores in the next few years, Bebe has also announced major layoffs at two of its offices: 136 have been let go at the Brisbane, Calif., headquarters, and another 160 have been laid off at the Los Angeles office. Pink slips have also been issued to more than 400 retail workers at 35 California Bebe stores, effective May 27.
The "Cronut" Founder Is Opening a Bakery and Restaurant at The Grove [Eater LA]
Dominique Ansel, the creator of the infamous New York City treat, the cronut, is opening up shop at The Grove later this year. The new full-service restaurant and bakery will take the place of Morel's French Steakhouse across from the central fountain; the bakery will occupy the first floor and the restaurant will be located on the second. Ansel's decision to open a full restaurant comes after a successful pop-up shop a few years back.
Alicia Keys, Kobe Bryant and More Sell Clothes on eBay for Charity [Pret-a-Reporter Inbox]
If you've ever wanted to own a piece of Alicia Keys' star style, now's your chance. The singer-songwriter is joining Kobe Bryant, Sophia Bush, Iskra Lawrence and Big Sean in doing some spring cleaning on eBay this week. Keys is auctioning off 43 pieces from her closet, including a custom Givenchy gown, with 100 percent of proceeds going to charity. The auctions are live now and will close April 20.
Rag & Bone Film Starring Bobby Canavale to Premiere at Tribeca Film Festival [Pret-a-Reporter Inbox]
Rag & Bone's latest short film, Hair, will premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival later this month. The five-minute short, shot in the Brooklyn neighborhood of Williamsburg by John Turturro, stars Bobby Cannavale (wearing Rag & Bone, of course) engaged in an ad-libbed conversation about the particularities of men's hair. Past Rag & Bone shorts have starred Mark Hamill and Winona Ryder.
