Ben Affleck Played Plus-One for Emmy-Winning Girlfriend Lindsay Shookus
The couple is awards-show official.
Ben Affleck attended yet another Hollywood awards show, but this time it was in a supporting role.
The actor was spotted at the 2017 Emmy Awards as the arm candy of his girlfriend, Saturday Night Live producer Lindsay Shookus. The couple went public in July (and were most recently spotted at the U.S. Open last week), three months after Affleck's wife of 12 years, Jennifer Garner, filed for divorce. Garner and Affleck had been separated for two years before moving forward with a divorce.
Though Affleck, 45, and Shookus, 37, skipped the red carpet, the actor stood and cheered when SNL won for best variety sketch series. The blonde producer was spotted on stage behind Lorne Michaels as he gave an acceptance speech on behalf of the team. It was a good night for the NBC series, which took home 9 of the 22 awards for which it was nominated.
To celebrate the evening, Shookus and Affleck attended the HBO afterparty, where they were spotted at the table of Curb Your Enthusiasm's Larry David. The comedian is well acquainted with the SNL team as well, following his memorable cameos as Bernie Sanders during the 2016 election cycle.
