Groomer Natalia Bruschi, who was responsible for his sleek 'do, gives a step-by-step.

Ben Affleck’s appearance at the ESPYs on Wednesday was surprising, but not as much as who he presented an award to: Derek Jeter. For the out-of-character appearance (Affleck’s a die-hard Boston fan and Jeter is a New York Yankee), the actor —still wearing his wedding ring alongside a Gucci suit — looked handsome as ever.

"Since Ben’s suit was very clean and tailored, I wanted to make sure his hair complemented that," his groomer Natalia Bruschi tells Pret-a-Reporter. "[We] went for a classic, yet sophisticated deep side part."

To accomplish that look, the groomer (who also works with John Corbett and Ben Stiller) towel-dried Affleck’s hair and applied a quarter-sized amount of Matrix StyleLink Super Fixer Strong Hold Gel ($18) all over.

"Next, I combed through and styled [his] hair with a deep side part for a polished, formal evening look. I let the hair air dry a bit, then ran my fingers through the fringe and crown area for light separation." Bruschi sprayed Matrix StyleLink Texture Builder Messy Finish Spray ($18) on top of the actor’s hair, and used her fingers to separate it a little. Finally she used Matrix StyleLink Style Fixer Finishing Hairspray ($18) to hold the style in place for the night.
