Ben Wheatley's 'Sightseers' Stars Alice Lowe and Steve Oram; Is Written by the Duo

The dark comedy is backed by Studiocanal, Film4 and the BFI Film Fund.

LONDON – Ben Wheatley’s third big screen outing, Sightseers, stars Alice Lowe and Steve Oram and is written by the duo themselves.

Lowe and Oram penned the script, billed as a dark comedy about an oddball couple whose caravan tour of England ends up as a killing spree, and is backed by Studiocanal, Film4 and the BFI Film Fund.

Lowe’s acting resume boasts a star turn in Sky Atlantic’s This Is Jinsy while Oram’s C.V. boasts a run in the cult British comedy The Mighty Boosh.

The movie starts shooting this week and is produced by Nira Park of Big Talk Pictures, and Claire Jones and Andy Starke of Rook Films. Exec producers are Danny Perkins and Jenny Borgars of Studiocanal, Matthew Justice of Big Talk and Katherine Butler of Film4.

Wheatley's debut was Down Terrace while his sophomore effort

Kill List garnered positive notices after being distributed in theaters here by Studiocanal.

Protagonist Pictures will be selling the title to international buyers during the upcoming American Film Market.
