Apparently, no one outside the funeral noticed something was wrong until the hearse reached the church and the priest noticed blood on it. According to WHDH, the family claims there had been tension between the two for some time.

The 48-year old Benzino is known throughout the hip-hop world for his time on Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta as well as his time as co-owner of The Source, which included a lengthy public feud with Eminem.

The long-standing beef between Eminem and Benzino dates back to 2002 and the Source's ratings of Eminem's music, with Benzino accusing Eminem of exploiting hip-hop culture. Benzino attacked Eminem on several diss tracks including "Pull Up Your Skirt" and "Die Another Day," and Eminem responded with tracks like "Nail in the Coffin" and "The Sauce."
