Berger upped to exec vp at E! Television

Lisa Berger has been promoted to executive vp original programming and series development at E! Entertainment Television.

With her expanded responsibilities, Berger will develop content for online and mobile platforms as well as the E! cable mothership. Berger reports to Ted Harbert, president and CEO of Comcast Entertainment Group. Harbert credited Berger with helping boost the channel's ratings 13% during the past year with such new series as "The Girls Next Door," "House of Carters" and "The Simple Life: 'Til Death Do Us Part."

"As E!'s content development continues to extend beyond the television screen to broadband, online and wireless, Lisa and her team will too expand their scope of work, developing content for new-media platforms as stand-alone entertainment as well as to complement the linear channel," Harbert said.

Berger joined E! Networks as senior vp programming development in September 2003, focusing on development for E! and Style Network. Before that, she was executive vp alternative programming at Fox Television Studios Prods., where she helped shepherd the drama "The Shield" for FX, among other projects.
