Berkshire fest to salute Penn


NEW YORK -- Director Arthur Penn will be honored with a lifetime achievement award at the Berkshire International Film Festival.

Penn's film "Bonnie and Clyde" will be screened following a tribute by its Oscar-winning star Estelle Parsons, along with screenwriter Walter Bernstein, producer Gene Lazko, actress Karen Allen and the lead cast of Penn's 1981 film "Four Friends."

The tribute will be held May 19 following an afternoon screening of "Friends," and followed by a May 20 screening of Penn's "Alice's Restaurant."

The Great Barrington, Mass. festival runs May 17-20.
