Berlin: 'Better Call Saul,' Kyle Chandler's 'Bloodline' to Debut at Film Festival

The 'Breaking Bad' prequel, Netflix's upcoming drama from the creators of 'Damages,' and several European series will screen.

Better Call Saul is heading to Berlin.

As part of a new focus on high-end TV drama, the Berlin International Film Festival will screen Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould's prequel to Breaking Bad in its international premiere.

Berlin will also screen Bloodline, the new Florida-set drama series starring Kyle Chandler, from Damages creators Glenn Kessler, Daniel Zelman and Todd A. Kessler, which is set to premiere on Netflix on March 20; the hotly anticipated German period series Deutschland '83; and the Italian political thriller 1992, which will kick off the drama series event in Berlin on Feb. 9.

Another German series, Blochin — The Living and the Dead, created by German film director Matthias Glasner (The Free Will) will have its world premiere in Berlin.

Other highlights include Danish series Follow the Money, the latest from the creators of hit drama Borgen, the Swedish series Blue Eyes, and False Flag, a espionage drama from Israel's Keshet Media.

In addition to the gala screenings, Berlin's European Film Market will host a buyers' lounge Feb. 9 and 10 for television industry executives attending the festival.
