The Anthony Maras-directed feature is based on actual events that took place during the 2008 Mumbai terrorist attacks.

Fresh off of an Oscar nomination for his performance in Lion, Dev Patel can next be seen in the thriller Hotel Mumbai, which made its world market premiere at the Berlin Film Festival.

Patel, who also serves as an executive producer on the Arclight Films feature, co-stars alongside Armie Hammer, Anupam Kher, Jason Isaacs and Nazanin Boniadi.

Hotel Mumbai details the true events that took place during the devastating 2008 Mumbai attacks, during which an Islamic militant organization carried out a total of 12 shootings and bombings within the city. The film tells the story of the survivors and victims who faced the attacks.

Anthony Maras is directing from a script co-written with John Collee, which was inspired by the documentary Surviving Mumbai.

The Weinstein Co. acquired North American rights to Hotel Mumbai at the Cannes Film Festival last May. Arclight FIlms is handling worldwide sales.
