Berlin: James Caan, Danny Glover Join Boxing Drama 'Bang Bang'
Brendan Walsh is directing and 13 Films is shopping the indie to foreign buyers at EFM in Berlin.
James Caan and Danny Glover are set to star in Bang Bang, a Detroit-set boxing drama about a former fighter coping with unfinished business.
Caan will play "Bang Bang" Rozyski, a onetime boxing champ who returns home after failing to settle a score with a former opponent (Glover) to find one last chance at redemption.
Brendan Walsh (Nurse Jackie) will direct from a script written by Will Janowitz, with Bradley Ross, Mary Jane Skalski and Damon Lane producing.
Bang Bang is set to shoot in May. 13 Films is handling international sales and will introduce the project at the European Film Market in Berlin. ICM is handling domestic sales. Ed Pressman, Jon Katz, Gabi Rosenzvit, and Tannaz Anisi and Greg Schenz from 13 Films share executive producer credits.
"To watch an acting titan like James Caan navigate the streets of Detroit fueled by vengeance against his more than formidable adversary played by Danny Glover will be the main event not to miss," Walsh said in a statement.
