The film stars Berlinale Shooting Star Franz Rogowski and 'Toni Erdmann' star Sandra Huller.
Music Box Films has acquired all U.S. rights to Student Academy Award winner Thomas Stuber’s In the Aisles, which is part of the Berlin film festival's competition lineup.
The film stars Berlinale Shooting Star Franz Rogowski (Transit, Victoria), Toni Erdmann star and European Film Award winner Sandra Huller and Peter Kurth (Babylon Berlin).
The movie will have its world premiere in the festival on Friday.
The film focuses on the shy and reclusive Christian (Rogowski) who loses his job and starts to work for a wholesale market. Bruno from the beverage aisle (Kurth) takes him under his wing and quickly becomes a fatherly friend to him. In the aisles, he meets married "Sweets"-Marion (Huller) and is instantly smitten.
Beta Cinema announced the deal.
"Director Thomas Stuber has created a microcosm of the world populated by universally recognizable workers finding pride, meaning, friendship and love at their big box store," said Music Box Films president William Schopf. "We are proud to introduce the philosophers and workers of the United States to this unique film.”
