Berlin: 'The Pearl Button' Sells Across Europe, Middle East

Patricio Guzman's documentary on the devastation of Chile's indigenous population is in competition at the Berlin film festival.

Berlin buyers are hot for The Pearl Button, the new documentary on Chile's indigenous population from Nostalgia for the Light director Patricio Guzman.

Pyramide International, which is handling world-wide sales for The Pearl Button at Berlin's European Film Market closed multiple territories for The Pearl Button, including with New Wave for the U.K. and Ireland, Real Fiction for Germany, Cineteca Nacional for Mexico and Movie Turtle for the Middle East.

Pyramide has sold The Pearl Button across most of Europe and said it is currently in negotiations with the film for the U.S. and Canada. The company will release the film itself in France later this year.
